We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity in the Crossing Borders Global Studies Program at Krogerup Hojskole in Denmark. This unique program is designed for internationally-minded and socially-committed students, age 18 and older. The program focuses on current social, cultural environmental and economic dimensions of globalization. It includes the Nordic welfare model and study tours abroad.

The program is offered as follows :

Fall semester: 17 weeks – August 23 – December 19, 2009 Cost : 3512 Euro

Spring semester: 22 weeks - January 10 - June 12, 2010 Cost : 4440 Euro

There is a possibility of taking shorter courses as well.

The program is a life-changing experience at an exceptional value, and it includes tuition, room, and board plus a 2-week trip to Turkey and a 3-day tour of Denmark, as well 50 hours of Danish language, society and culture. Therefore it is a good stepping stone to the Nordic Danish society.

Globalista is a new online school, established to give children all over the world the chance to develop their Danish skills. We use Skype and special webtools that allow the teacher and the child to work with the same documents online. The 30-minute lessons are intense and focussed and typically take place once or twice a week.

Our teachers are educated in Denmark and offer a personal and individually planned training in the Danish language. The online lessons are planned to train both verbal and written skills and the education matches the demands and objectives stated by the Danish Ministry of Education.

Children’s Playgroup

We are a group of bilingual children aged 0-7 who meet with our Danish-Scottish parents to play and sing Danish songs etc. Our provisional programme for April-June is as follows:

19.4.09 – Botanic Gardens;

9.5.09 – Dalkeith Country Park;

6.6.09 – Fife Animal Park;

28.6 – East Links Family Farm.
