Easter Lunch – 17th April 2011 1pm

Venue: Danish Cultural Institute, 3 Doune Terrace, Edinburgh.

The DCI is the location for our traditional Danish Easter lunch with smørrebrød, snaps and a song or two…

Early booking is recommended as numbers are restricted and this is one of our most popular events, so let us know ASAP if you wish to attend by returning the form in the latest newsletter with payment.

Price: £12 per person excluding drinks. Snaps donations are always appreciated!

Join us at Cargo in Fountainbridge for Sunday brunch. This is a new event on our calendar and we hope you’ll come along for some good food and adult conversation.

We’ll book your seat in the restaurant and you pay for what you order on the day. We hope, if it proves popular, to make this a regular event.

Cock-a-Leekie Soup

Served with fresh crusty bread and butter

Haggis, Neeps and Tatties

Served With an optional whisky and peppercorn sauce

(Vegetarian Haggis available on request)

Shortbread and Drambuie Frushie

(Shortbread, honey, chocolate and Drambuie)

Tea, coffee and mints

Price: £14. Drinks are not included but can be purchased at the bar.

Doors open at 7pm and the Address to the Haggis will start at 7.30 pm.

We are looking for volunteers to do, for example, the Selkirk Grace, the Immortal Memory of Burns or perhaps you can suggest something completely different.

Sankt Hans Evening, Saturday 26th June, 7 p.m.

Venue: Dalmeny Estate
We hope we are in for another dry evening as the lovely beach on Dalmeny Estate provides a fantastic setting for our Skt Hans celebrations with the ritual burning of witches and midges!
As usual, BBQ food is provided and drinks will be on sale at the event. All you have to do is bring blankets/picnic chairs and perhaps a copy of Højskolesangbogen! We do recommend you bring warm and water proof clothing.

Price: £6 for adults and £3 for children over 5
Please sign up by returning the cut-off slip sent out with the April newsletter before 6th June. If you missed the deadline and would like to participate please contact your comittee members.

Please go to the car park at Dalmeny House and follow the signs from there.

Directions:

How to find Dalmeny House: From Edinburgh, take A90 northbound (towards Forth Road Bridge). Turn off slip road signposted for South Queensferry. The
main entrance to Dalmeny Estate is approx. ½ mile up this road, on your right. Enter through main entrance and follow tarmac road until you see Dalmeny House and car park on your left.

From Fife: After Forth Road Bridge, take 1st slip road signposted for South Queensferry. At roundabout, take first left. At next roundabout (Burger King),
take 1st left into South Queensferry. Take 4th right (Station Road) and carry on
to T-junction at the end of this road. Turn right up to T-junction in Dalmeny
Village, then turn left and continue until you reach the crossroads at main entrance to Dalmeny Estate.

Bus no. 43 from Edinburgh stops at the main entrance (ask for the Chapel
Gate bus stop).

CLAY PIGEON SHOOTING – 24th April 10 am

Clay Pigeon ShootingVenue: Dalmeny Estate, South Queensferry

We would like to welcome you back to another clay pigeon shoot at Dalmeny Estate. Meet at 10 am in the car park by Dalmeny House and remember to wrap up warm and bring tea, coffee etc. as you should expect to be outdoors for approx. 2 hours. Price: £10 per head for those taking part in the shooting (spectators are also very welcome).
