Danish Films at the Glasgow Film Festival 12-22 Feb
Niels Arden Oplev’s To Verdener (Worlds Apart), which was selected as Denmark’s Oscar contender, will screen at the Glasgow Film Festival on Tuesday February 17th at the Glasgow Film Theatre at 3.30pm and Wednesday February 18th at the Cineworld Renfrew Street at 6.30pm.
Based on true events the film follows Sarah, a young Jehovah’s Witness who has a passionate commitment to her faith and her family.
When she meets Ties it is love at first sight but Ties is a non- believer and the church elders consider their relationship unacceptable.The acclaimed drama takes a fair-minded and though- provoking approach to explosive issues.
Ole Christian Madsen’s Flammen & Citronen (Flame & Citron) will screen at the Cineworld Rebfrew Street on both Friday February 20th at 6.30pm and Saturday February 21st at 1.15pm.
Mads Mikkelsen and Thurs Lindhardt star in the true story of the ruthless resistance fighters who risked their lives to kill German officers and anyone who dared to collaborate with the enemy.
